We make this classic, traditional, yummy ketchup from organic, California-grown tomatoes. Unlike other brands that use genetically modified tomatoes ours are GMO free and full of flavor. And unlike those big brands that use high fructose corn syrup we use cane sugar which makes a world of a difference in taste. Cider vinegar, over white vinegar, gives it a nice fruity flavor. We call this our San Francisco style ketchup because this city is famous for food and our ketchup lives up the the reputation. We spent many years tasting different brands of ketchup to get this just right. Over the years we have modified it and discovered most ketchup brands use highly concentrated tomato paste which can have an almost sour taste, requiring lots of sugar. We use pureed tomatoes and the advantage is a more fresh tomato flavor and not having to add as much sugar. We have customers who are ketchup addicts tell us it is the best they ever tried. One customer who is from Pittsburgh, PA, the birthplace of Heinz, and where everyone puts ketchup on everything, said it just blew his mind. We hate to say it, but this is how ketchup is supposed to taste.
